Campeonato de España del Platú - Palma de Mallorca

 El Real Club Náutico de Palma acogerá por primera vez entre el 1 y el 4 de
mayo 2008, el Campeonato de España de Platú 25. Este año, el Campeonato
llega a su tercera edición y, según las previsiones, participarán en ella
más de 60 embarcaciones, tanto nacionales como internacionales. Regatistas
de Alemania e Italia ya han mostrado su interés en participar en este
evento.

En los últimos años, el monotipo ha experimentado un auge espectacular, con
numerosas unidades en casi todas las Federaciones.

El Platú 25 es un monotipo de 7,5 metros de eslora y 2,5 metros de manga, y
suelen tripularlo cinco personas.

Fue diseñado por el ingeniero neocelandés Bruce Farr y sólo los
constructores licenciados por Bruce Fass Associates Inc. Cuentan con el
permiso para construir y comercializar el Platú 55.

En Europa, Beneteau es el único constructor licenciado, ofreciendo el
Beneteau 25 Platú. Sus características destacables son su maniobrabilidad y
velocidad. No es un barco de crucero, puesto que su habitabilidad es muy
reducida. Las primeras unidades del Platú 25 fueron botadas en el año 1996.

ALBERTO GARCIA (TURISMO PORTUGAL) REPITE VICTORIA EN VIGO

"Vilagarcía" de Carlos Paz obtuvo el segundo lugar igualado a puntos con el primer clasificado, aunque sigue comandando la general del Circuito Caixanova por un estrecho margen.

En el grupo B vence el "Hotel Mercure" de Carlos Tenreiro y pone la general al rojo vivo.

Finalizó la cuarta entrega del Circuito Caixanova, de nuevo marcada por la igualdad, en condiciones de viento muy inestables durante todo el fin de semana; aún así, la excelente labor realizada por el Jury presidido por Fernando Giraldo propició que se celebrasen 3 pruebas el sábado y 1 el domingo.

El regreso de Gonzalo Araújo con Balearia-Leaseplan avivó la lucha por las primeras plazas, pero Alberto Garcia, estimulado por su nuevo patrocinio “Turismo de Portugal – Algarve”, supo defender dos primeros puestos en la jornada del sábado que a la postre serían esenciales.

Carlos Paz, por su parte, tuvo un inicio bastante flojo en una primera manga ciertamente “loca”, donde muchos de los favoritos se hundieron, y gracias a poder disputar la prueba del domingo, entró en juego el descarte. De esta forma, ascendió hasta el segundo lugar de la clasificación “Vilagarcía”, empatado a puntos con el primero.

En la general, comanda Vilagarcía con sólo 2 puntos de margen sobre Turismo de Portugal: Tanto Carlos como Alberto son las dos grandes bazas de la flota gallega para el Cto de España que se disputará desde el jueves 1 de Mayo en la bahía de Palma, y no sería extraño que ambos tocasen podio, trasladando su guerra particular a las aguas baleares.

En el Grupo B, el portugués Carlos Tenreiro (Mercure Hotels) dominó de principio a fin y los resultados del fin de semana sitúan a otra tripulación lusa “Nosada” de Fernando Figueiredo, al mando de la general, con otros dos puntos sobre Caixagalicia de Ero Pons.

Regata Hublot PalmaVela

Like a swiss watch, in keeping with its main sponsors, Hublot, one of the most consalidated regattas on the Spanish calendar since 2004 returns punctually to the Bay of Palma. The 2008 regatta, due to be held from 16th to 20th April, promises four days of sport, sun , a good atmosphere and spectacle in the village, with a host of guests having a great time in the facilities of Palma's Real Club Nautico.

Superyacht cup palma 2008

The superyacht cup Palma 2007 is a difficult event to beat, but with the interest there is in top-level yacht regattas, the 2008 Palma regatta promises yet again to be one of the most important events of the year for anyone who owns, works one, sails, designs or build yachts.

This is the superyacht Cup’s twelfth year, making it the oldest and most important superyacht event in the world. Its exclusiveness and informal atmosphere have made this trophy grow in size and popularity every year, attracting yacht owners from all over the world. The 52 sailing boats and 3000 participants who competed in June 2007 quite probably managed to turn it into the largest event in the world.

The superyacht Cup 2008 will follow the same general format as the 2007 one, with registrations on 11th June followed by three day’s competition in the Bay of Palma, closing the event with a spectacular prize-giving gala set in the magnificent atmosphere of San Carlos Castle. However, many aspects will change in 2008; with no Americas Cup this year, there will be no millennium Cup, a sailing event held in New Zealand only as part of the Americas Cup.
The format is due to be adapted as a result, including new elements in the social programme and maintaining that unique, enjoyable atmosphere whilst simultaneously ensuring the privacy and security of all the participants. The number of yachts expected to register is 30 to 35, (depending on the size and prow space) and registrations will be accepted in order of arrival.
Another new element will be a combined event trophy, awarded by Yachting World, for the best performance in the mini-series of the two Superyacht regattas, the Superyacht Cup Palma and the inaugural regatta of the Boat international Silver Jubilee that begins on 23rd June in Sardinia.
